The T274 is a new microprocessor-based portable calibrator from Gometrics Instruments, designed for calibrating process instruments. It measures and generates current (mA) and voltage (V/mV) signals, combining the functions of the T224 current calibrator and the T234 voltage calibrator—which it replaces—into a single instrument.
It is part of the Tinycal line, which has been updated in both design and performance: resolution and accuracy have been improved compared to previous models, with enhancements such as a backlit display, better long-term stability, and the ability to add accessories, such as multi-input connectors or probes.
On the front panel, the measurement is selected using the IN/OUT key; the display shows the value to be measured at all times, and the generation of setpoints can be configured in engineering units or as a percentage, with programmable intervals ranging from 1 to 30 seconds that can be stored in its 6 preset keys (S1–S6).
The T274 features a built-in 24 Vdc power supply that allows the loop to be powered directly from the calibrator (active mode) or to operate in passive mode. With an accuracy of 0.015% FS and a one-year uncertainty of 0.025% FS, it offers high-precision, high-resolution measurements with the long-term stability characteristic of the Tinycal series.
Its high reliability, ease of use and programming, as well as its light weight and compact size, make it a very useful standard tool in an instrumentation workshop, whether in the field or on-site.
